What versions of Cinema 4D does VOXEL MESHER work on?

Voxel Mesher works with Cinema 4D R25 and above. Voxel Mesher works with Cinema 4D 2023.1 and above.

How many computers can I install VOXEL MESHER on?

One license of Voxel Mesher entitles you to one install on a tower and one on a laptop. Looking for a group License? Contact us.

I’ve correctly installed VOXEL MESHER but it’s not showing up in my Extention/Plugin Dropdown.

The most likely cause is that your C4D is not fully up-to-date. Newer compiles of C4D often break older plugins. Update your C4D, and Voxel Mesher will likely pop into the Extention dropdown immediately.

Does VOXEL MESHER work with other plugins? X-Particles? Octane? Arnold? Etc?

Yes! Voxel Mesher generates a mesh or point cloud, so as long as another plugin can see that geometry, it should see Voxel Mesher.

What happens if I send a file to someone who doesn’t have VOXEL MESHER?

C4D will pop up a warning that there is a missing plugin, and the Voxel Mesher objects in the Object Manager will show as question marks. If a scene file is saved on a machine that doesn’t have Voxel Mesher but the question marks, once it is returned to a machine that has Voxel Mesher installed it will automatically work again (assuming the Voxel Mesher wasn’t deleted by the user).

A Voxel Mesher can be made editable if it is not animated, then the resulting geometry could be sent. Otherwise baking to Alembic will be necessary.

Can I send a file with VOXEL MESHER to render farm?

The render farm will require Voxel Mesher to be installed. If a 3rd party farm does not have Voxel Mesher, have the vendor contact Rocket Lasso.

If all else fails, a Voxel Mesher can be baked out to Alembic for maximum compatibility.

VOXEL MESHER Version Limitations:

Different versions of C4D have different limitations. Voxel Mesher was primarily created to be used in the newest versions of C4D.

• Redshift wasn’t fully integrated until 2023

• Pyro did not exist until 2023.1

Why isn’t Voxel mesher showing in my C4D 2023?

Pyro wasn’t added until 2023.1, so we compiled the 2023.1 version. If your version is earlier than 2023.1 please update your Cinema 4D to at least 2023.1
